About This Chapter
The narrator is 35 years old, a writer and an illustrator. He's still single, but he's happy to talk about his love story. He tells us that he doesn't have a lot of money, so he'll just play around and tell his own story. The narrator tells us about his first kiss with someone. It's been a long time since he'd done it with anyone. He says that he looks like a "late bloomer liar kiss" on his way back from his work restaurant meeting. The waitress asks him if he still has his place open, and he says yes. She asks if he has any alcohol or fatigue from work, and the narrator says he does. She says that because of his "gentle demeanor" and his "relaxed" way of talking, he comes "ingway of talking . . and his gentle manner" . He asks if she's tired, and she says she is. She tells him that she has no time to feel lonely, so she'll leave him a note.
