In this chapter, we meet a thirty-year-old woman who has been working as a writer for a magazine for five years. She tells us that she is "tired of everything" . She says that she used to be a mid-level designer, but that she quit five years ago and became a pen-dent. She is now writing a romance column for a popular fashion magazine. The editor of the magazine wants to know if she can write a one-time romance at a special rate of 30 dollars a month. The woman tells the woman that she has an appointment the next day at 5:00 p.m. at a station called "morihara." The woman thanks the writer for taking the time to meet her, and the two part on good terms.
