The chapter opens with a flashback to the time of the encounter between Nemo and the forest spirit. Nemo is scolded by the spirit after being dragged back to the village, and the lesson he learns is too painful for him to have thought this way. After his punishment is over, Nemo is allowed to meet the spirit, but he is not allowed to see her again. The next day, Nemo asks his mom if the spirit mentioned him, and she tells him not to come to the forest until they get permission from the spirit. The two try to erase their mom's memory, but the warrior erases hers.
