The chapter opens with Toto's introduction to the reader. He tells the audience that he is now able to understand why his mother is so concerned about him. He explains that he has been asked to tutor a friend, and she has asked him if he would like to become a teacher. Toto explains that the reason he became a warrior was that he made a promise with a friend and created a peaceful world, and then he became the warrior. He says that if his friend were the warrior, he would be proud of them, and that they should cut off all activities that are outside of combat. He then tells the reader that he will tutor the warrior when they return, and he asks the reader to hurry up and get to know him.
