Chaos magic's elder, the iron elder, tells the others in the hall that the two people they're looking for have stayed at the bonfire the night before. He asks them to leave the matter to him, since he's the one who's looking for them. Chaos magic, he says, is the best of the three major cults, but since the queen has returned, their power has grown. The iron elder tells them that a few years ago, the North Sea had an unusual event: past masters of the other three great cults joined forces to chase down the previous sultan of chaos magic, who was also a sultan. Unfortunately, they ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. The sultan's daughter, the current queen, returned from the battle, and chaos magic fell into chaos. The main thing they need to do, says the elder, is to return to the "ghostly death rod" and free themselves from this state.
