Spring mountain is over a hundred miles away from the city. It has been abandoned for ages and attracts few visitors. Only a minority of people are willing to stay on the mountain. The castellan wants to know why he would join them. He says that his underlings and city's guardsmen went to spring mountain a month ago to fight the demons. The majority of those who attended were injured or killed. He explains that he is unwilling to do battle with the demons because he does not have the troops to do so. He asks the castellan why he didn't warn them earlier about the danger, and he says that the demons are not as strong as he thought they would be. He adds that he could only rely on the essence cultivators for help now. He is grateful that everyone understands him, and says that he will rip off his mask. Everyone seems to understand him, he says, and everyone seems to agree with him. He tells the others to stop arguing, and tells them to send a signal so that others can come to the rescue if they see any demons. He also says that they will separate their forces and study spiritual arts together.
