This chapter's epigraph comes from a soliloquy by Lin feng, who has just returned from the battle. He tells us that the battle is going on outside the city, and that he has seen many righteous people coming out to fight the devils. He says that he's never seen such a large number of righteous people before, and he hopes that there will be an order from the deputy sultan soon. The sultan is supposed to be in the middle of the battle, but he doesn't know what to do. He's going to send a bunch of messengers to each school to tell them what's happening, and then they'll all go to the battle together. Lin feng tells the other students to get their weapons ready, because they're all going to be heroes in the end. He also reminds them that this time, they won't have to wait for the sultan's order. They'll be able to do it their own way, and they can all be heroes fighting for the righteous cause.
