This chapter opens with a conversation between Lin and Su. Lin tells Su that he's ready to spend a lot of money to get his hands on the girl. He asks Su if he can place a bet on whether the girl will be able to borrow a certain amount of money when she returns from her trip to the outer galaxy. Su says that he can't, because Lady Buddha won't allow him to leave even if Lin's mother is dead. Su tells Lin that there are seven more stores that are willing to lend them money if they agree to pay back the money with interest at three times the original interest rate. The owner of one of the stores offered to pay 30 million, but he only raised 30 million. Lin says that they're going to sell the gambling yard and use the money to buy the girl back from Lady Buddha. He then asks Su to join them in the search for the girl, because he'll be killed if he doesn't.
