In this short scene, Lin tells his mother that he has abandoned the music hall for four years because he is in love with her. He tells her that his love for Gui Guizhou is so strong that he cannot bear to treat Guizhou the same way as he treats his son. He says that Guizhou's love for him is so great that he does not want to treat him any differently than he treats Zixiao. He also says that he will return to Luo city to care for his baby. Lin asks if Guizhou still does not change, and she says that she does not know. Lin says that his baby is his biggest concern, and that there is no way for him to stop them knowing each other. She tells him that she has one of Alvar Aalto's books out of print, which she will keep because someone else wants it. She asks why she did not open the door to check it out, and he says that it is impossible for her to get hints of her father from her mother. He asks if she is afraid that she would bully him to come on, and when she replies that she is too alert, he asks her why she didn't answer his call. Lin apologizes, saying that he did not answer the first call because he put his phone in a bag. He then asks if he is bad at lying, like his father.
