In this short scene, Gu Beichen tells his son-in-law that he wants to give his gift of love to his mother and little girl. He tells the boy that he has just returned from China and wishes to spend some time with his family. He asks the boy's uncle to let him in so that he can have a private talk with him. The uncle agrees to let the boy in, and the two begin to talk. The boy tells his uncle that he wishes he could spend more time with momo, but that she has refused to do so for so long. He says that he is grateful to him for the care he has provided for him, but he will not let his son go after all. He adds that he still thinks he is giving up on his love for momo. He explains that companionship is the longest lasting love, but if you do not fall for the person you are with, even companionship is not lasting. He also says that momo fell for him sooner than he thought, and that he will always stand by her.
