In this chapter, the gods discuss whether or not they should fight each other. The gods agree that it is unwise for Cai to fight with the other gods. They also agree that they should not fight because they do not want to be associated with the "sacred land of light." The gods then explain that they are under attack by "shadow monsters," and that they have demanded that Cai take the girls to safety. They will follow Cai wherever he goes, and then they will fight. Cai asks why they are still there, and the gods reply that they owe their lives to him, and that he will do anything for them. He then casts a secret technique on Cai, and his mind will enter Cai's body. This technique will bring his power to the same level as that of the gods, and he will not be able to defeat Cai alone. He will need two of them to give him a hand, and they must pay the cost of using the secret technique. Cai says that he owes his life to his young master, and if he is in danger, he will sacrifice his life for his master's safety. The cost of the technique, he says, is that in a month he will lose two-thirds of his power.
