In this chapter, Dr. Manette asks the UM to seek refuge with him. The UM tells him that he is humble since he is the successor of the dead King of God, and that his fame has spread throughout the universe. He also tells the UM that the House of Flower divinity does not accept men, and the UM is the only one who still cares about his body. He says that the body is merely skin and flesh, and to the UM who has the divine mind, it is just "optional." He adds that he will not abandon his body, as he is a god, and he can discard it. He explains that the universe has many gods pursuing the heavenly law, who are willing to give their bodies up for the sake of pursuing the law. He then explains that by burning the little universe inside each body, they can gain unparalleled powers and approach the "source of the cosmic path." He then says that burning the universe will destroy a sacred land, and this idiot is bluffing. He offers the UM the rest of his life as long as the UM teaches him how to burn "the little universe."
