The narrator wakes up in the middle of the night to find that his university life has begun. He's excited to be going to school, but he's also worried about what's going to happen to his reputation if he doesn't take care of his brother. He tells Fatty that he'll have to go back to the girls' dorm, where he was last seen. Fatty tells him that his reputation has been ruined, and the narrator is envious of him.
