About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that Nerissa's coach and referee are not doing anything to help her, and that she does not really hate anyone. Nerissa, however, does have a brutal honesty that leaves her mark on people, and she is disliked by those around her. She is also disliked by her friends and family, because they do not understand her true nature. The only thing she can do, she says, is to give her her feelings, and if she accepts them, she will accept them for the rest of her life. She also says that she still hates amamiya and her friends for making Nerissa sad, but that she needs to control herself, or she will be in danger too. She tells us that after her sister's death, Nerissa became more and more attracted to the sport of volleyball. She was even called a "rabid dog" by some of her friends, and maya thinks that maya thought she could do the same thing too.
