In this chapter, we learn that Em'ly is in the middle of a fight, and that she's about to lose to a girl named teranuma. She's a pretty good fighter, but she doesn't have a lot of friends on the team, so she has to fight with people who are "pro" and "pro-like" . Um, that's not a good idea, because she can't be pushed around and taken advantage of by her opponent. Em says she'll have to wait and see if she can get back on track, but that'll be hard for her, because the other girls in the team aren't strong enough to take on a girl like her right now. Em thinks it's really dangerous for a girl to try to take advantage of another girl's weakness, especially when the other girl isn't really strong. She can only take on one girl at a time, and Em thinks she'd be hard-pressed to get back in the swing of things if she had to fight two girls at once. She says she knows that she used to leap a lot higher than Em, but now she needs to put herself first. She tells Em that she loves the captain, and she keeps trying to convince her to like her, but the captain keeps losing interest in her. Em tries to calm Em down a bit, but Em can tell that Em is just as weak as anyone else, so he's going to have to do the job he can to keep it up.
