Back at the bakery, Sara tells us that she's won another round of the national cooking competition. She's glad that Hiroyuki stayed on because he's "quite a talent" for the blind, but she doesn't think she made the right decision in letting Hiroyuki stay on. Sara is worried that the family kicked her mother out of the household, but that she can't leave the family any time soon. She says that she wants to help Kyoko, but the family will only take care of her through high school. Sara says that if she becomes a gifted athlete, the family won't kick her out. But, she wonders, is this "scarecrow matriarch" really that scary? Sara says she needs to find her own money and decides that Kyoko should go to college.
