The next morning, Hiroyuki and the rest of the team go for a walk. Hiroyuki tells them that he's going to go study with the other team's captain, but he doesn't want to do it with them. He's on a date, and he wants to try a new restaurant, so he asks the other players to sign a paper reporting how much they spent on food that day. They all agree that they're having a good time, and Hiroyuki says that this team has a lot going for it, even though they aren't the best team in the world. He says that if everyone were great, someone would pick the team as their own, and that's how they'll be able to win the spring. He also says that the team is too small to compete in the winter tournament, so they need to get up and get going ASAP. The other players agree with him, and they talk about how important it is for them to be on the same team. One of the guys says that it's important to be interested in people, because the best players take an interest in people. That means that you really like other people a lot, because you're interested in them, too. That's why Hiroyuki is a threat to the team, because he likes to be around someone who's interested in him. He asks if they know what's up with this, and the other guys say that they don't. They say that Hiroyuki's girlfriend is having an affair with someone else. They also say that there's been a crush on odagiri since grade school, so she's had it for a long time.
