The narrator returns home from the blackout fight. He tells us that he's "so beat" and that the bath has "warmed up" for him. He asks who's there, and the answer is Sara. She's acting cold, so he'll call her later. Sara tells him that she got "blocked pretty bad" in the game, but she's fine for tomorrow. She asks him to teach her some block, and he tells her to hit it "up from below" . Sara asks if she can block for the other team, and she says she can, but it's hard to hit the tips of your fingers. She tells him to set it "close to the net" , and then she asks if he can stay with her tonight. He says he'd like to, but he doesn't want to see her the next day. He also tells her that he heard that she and her fiance are getting ready to get married after he graduates from college. Sara says she'll try to figure out a way to live together.
