About This Chapter
In the middle of the second set, Tamura tells the other players that the cavalry has arrived and that they have to get ready to fight. He tells them that he is not suited to be a setter because he has a "basal" that is molten, and that he makes attackers do crazy things with it. The cavalry arrives, and Tamura says that it is hard for the attackers to hit his sets because they always land them "so kind to attackers" . He says that he has no idea why the coach hasn't used Tamura as a setter, but that he had no idea that she was so much a technician. Tamura asks Tamura if he is the pawn of Tamura's president, and he says he is. He adds that he will never do anything "that violates my ethics" , even if Tamura orders it. He then says that if he were Tamura, he would not do anything that would violate his ethics. He also says that the drive to sacrifice self-sacrifice isn't "beautiful" because it puts "extra emotional burden" on those around him. He asks if he could sub Tamura out of the set, and she says that she will be here soon. He apologizes, saying that he was not suited for being a setter and that coach Tamura was right to not use him
