About This Chapter
At the gym, Atsuko complains about how she's been picked on by the other girls. She's not fat anymore, she says, and she doesn't want to be picked on anymore. She tells her coach to give her a seat anywhere in the gym so she can do what she wants. He tells her that she can't lie down until the lights go out. He also tells her not to do anything that's addictive, like smoking or drinking, because they're all supposed to be strict about it. He says that he's banned from his phone all night, and that his muscles are helping him a lot. He adds that getting fit is a good thing, because it's never going to make you lazy. He's glad to hear that he lost some weight, but he says that it was tough for him to lose it because he didn't think he'd be able to lose so much weight in such a short period of time. He admits that he still has some work to do, though, because the school has asked for three years of the program's data, and he says they've had to make some changes to the program because of the requests. He asks if they'll elect a captain for the team, and they all agree to do so.
