About This Chapter
Okay, now we're back at the beginning of the chapter, where Tomouchi is trying to figure out how he's going to deal with the fact that his sister is still alive. He's pretty sure that if his sister were still alive, he'd be like her, fighting like a big, strong, future-looking person. But, he says, his body isn't as strong as hers, so maybe he wouldn't have ended up fighting like that. He also says that if he hadn't been playing like that, he probably would have been alone at the tournament, feeling like a total loser. Okay, we'll get to that later. But first, we need to get to the point: if he had been fighting like his sister, he would've been shut out of the tournament because he was compared to her, and he would have felt like he wasn't worthy of the honor of being compared to someone like her. He says that's because of the curse of chi-chan, which means that he can't be compared to anyone else. He tells himself that he'll have a good time eating takoyaki with his friends after the match, and then he can figure out whether or not his sister resembles him, and if he can play his usual game, he can win the match.
