About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the heroes of the land are divided into two groups: those who have survived and those who are lost. The first group consists of the nobles and the commoners. The second group is made up of the heroes who have been brought to the land by the gods. The gods are gods to the heroes, but they are not gods to them. The heroes are not allowed to appoint people to serve them. They are only allowed to serve as gods to themselves. They do not need to serve anyone else. The only thing that makes them feel sorry about this is that they are heroes, and they do not have to serve anybody else. They can do whatever they want, as long as they obey the laws. They don't need to do anything else. This is the first time that Hero has been alone in her life, and she asks if she can talk to him while they work. He says he'll do this while he heals his leg. He tells her that he's from a country called goldia, and he used to have friends there, but he doesn't know anyone there anymore. Now he works in an office. He's never had a girl friend, and his school friends are all gone. He asks if he can go out with his friend, who is a wizard named futashige. He has a headache, and it's not gone away yet. He wants to go out and find a way to defeat the monsters. He knows that a normal man will die if he fails to do so. He also knows that his boss will abuse him if he does not meet his quotas. He decides to give it another shot.
