I'm Standing on a Million Lives 1-13

In the third year of the novel, a group of high school students meet at a school in Tokyo. The students, led by a young girl named Yusuke, have come to see the school's new headmaster, a man named hakozaki. The girl, named San, has joined the school as a model, and she and her friend, named shindo, have been scouted to work in the local department store. The three of them discuss their plans for the future, and they decide that they will go to the local high school, where they will be able to choose their school of choice. When they arrive at the school, they are greeted by the headmaster, who introduces them to the other students. He tells them that the school has changed since the beginning of the school year, and that the new headmaster has been appointed. He also tells the students that he will be leaving the school in a few days, and he asks them to meet him in the school yard. When the students arrive, they find the headmaster and his wife waiting for them. The two of them are excited to see each other again, and the headmaster tells the girls that they are welcome to come to the school anytime they wish. The girls agree to meet the headmaster in the yard, but they are not allowed to go inside the school. They are told that the headmaster will not be allowed to leave the house, and so they are told to go outside the house. They go outside, and when they come back, the headmaster asks them if they would like to meet with him again. They reply that they would, but that they do not want to meet anyone in the house that they did not like. They decide to meet again in the village. The headmaster asks the girls to come inside, but the girls refuse, saying they would rather stay outside. The men agree, and then they go inside, where the headmaster meets them. He asks them what they want to do with their lives. They tell him that they want him to be a priest, a lawyer, a teacher, or a doctor. They all agree that he is a good man, and agree that they wish to marry him. They also agree that the priest will be a good teacher, a good lawyer, and a good doctor. The boys agree that it is time for them to move on to the next phase of their education, and decide to go to a different school.
