In this chapter, we learn that the fight between the dragon bishop and jangani is going on, and that the two men are spreading about each other to anyone who might be interested in learning more about what's happening. The guards are locked in the dungeon, and no one else can enter. The only way to enter the dungeon is to go through the door that the guards have locked. If the plan works, they'll fight the dragon in a one-on-one fight. The two men decide to use poison as a weapon against the dragon. The poison is so strong that it resembles a hornet's nest, and the wind is so powerful that it's difficult to kill even an insect. They decide to sell their only child, the vikku child, to them, since they don't have enough money to feed them. They're all their family, they say, and selling one of them would be the only way for them to stay together. They also decide that they'd like to train under jangani, since he's the only one who knows how to use magic. He tells them that the dead dragon's blood has over 1.7 times the amount of magic in it, which jangani used to heal both the dragon and the bishop.
