About This Chapter
In the third round of the battle, shindo and hakozaki are still waiting for their turn to fight. They're not sure if they'll be able to make it, but they're determined to do whatever it takes to get back to the starting point. They talk about how much they've grown to love and respect each other, and how they'd never thought that their schoolmates would be so nice to each other. Hakozaki says that he's been trying his best not to be bullied, but he still doesn't know why he wouldn't stand up for himself. He says that his parents were in a gang, but life is too short for "bully ing" . He tells us that when he was a kid, his dad and his older brothers were gang members, but that life was too short to be a bully. He adds that when spring came, he found out that his sister had committed suicide from her separation from him, and that she had never talked to anyone about being or the other. He's worried that if his schoolmates are wiped out, he'll lose 80 percent of his friends, and he won't have any friends at all. They arrive at the library, where they were told that someone would fill them in on what's going on. They wonder if they can make it without a ride, and when they see the map, they realize that it's not a map at all, but a map of demons. They decide to fight anyway, even if it means giving up their lives. They hear that someone has asked them to save their friend, and they decide to do so even if they have to sacrifice their own lives.
