The Governess wakes up and tells Bai that she has been looking for her for a long while. She tells Bai to leave the house and move somewhere where no one will recognize them. Bai is scared to death and asks her to help him to the bed. Bai tells the Governess that she is getting hurt and sick and asks if they suspect her. Bai asks why she did not kick him out earlier and why she let him go now that they are so far along in the plan. Bai says she is injured and weak so she does not want to die.
