About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's back at the house. He's happy to see his sister, who's just bought a new candy apple. He asks her if she's done helping her dad, and she says yes. He tells her that he and his brother have been cleaning up the house, and that his dad has held her in his arms in a kind of "comfort" hug. The narrator doesn't think it's that great of a hug, but he does think it sounds pretty good. He says he'll try harder to get a boyfriend someday, though, because he'd rather be in love with someone he likes than someone who isn't good enough for him. She asks him if he wants a boyfriend, and he says yes, and then he asks if she wants to ask him out. She says she'll probably turn him down if he asks her out now, because she'd probably be worried if he did ask her out later. She tells him that her friends helped her pick out her new yukata, which is pretty cute. She thanks them for helping her pick it out, too, and says that she hopes they'll help her pick another one soon. She's not sure if it'll be a good one, but it will be.
