Springtime by the Window

In this chapter, we learn that the girls have been studying all summer long, and that they're going to have to stay up all night to finish their homework assignments. So, they've decided to have a little dinner party for the girls to celebrate their summer break. The girls are super excited about the party, and the narrator tells us that it's because the girls are studying so hard that they haven't even finished their homework yet. The narrator then tells us about a light in the girls' room that's supposed to wake them up, but the girls don't wake him up. He tells them that he's just found out that the light is on in their room, so they shouldn't worry too much about it. He also tells the girls that they should work hard on their homework, because he'd like to take a page from their book for the summer festival, but he'll have to wait until the end of the school year to do it. So the girls start their homework early, which is super cool, because they'll be able to watch the fireworks at the festival. They're super grateful to the narrator for helping them with homework, and he tells them to work on their home work, since they'd have to cook all of their own food.
