About This Chapter
In the meantime, Huck's granddaughter, Bing, tries to convince her father to let her stay with him instead of killing her. Huck, however, refuses, saying that the family competition is about to begin, and that if something bad happens to zhu, they'll lose their chance of winning. He's not his grandfather, he says, and he doesn't want to hurt his granddaughter. He tells Huck to get some rest, because he's just recovered from his poison. Huck tells him that he should have told him earlier, because it was all his fault. Huck begs his grandfather to forgive him, and tells him about his favorite cake. Huck asks if there's any better way to cultivate herbs than the one he told him about earlier, and Huck says that he has none. Huck is amazed, and says that the sly woman is close to him, so he'll have to kill her, too. Huck screams, and cries, and screams, until someone comes to help him.
