This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the god of the underworld. The god tells the story of a young woman named Lingxue, who has become very beautiful in the past year. She is the sister of a prince, and she has the power to make the prince's sister back her up. The young woman tells the god that she is not her fault, because her acting skills are very good. He tells the young woman that he will reward her with a silver coin if she kills her sister. He then tells her to go to her dorm master and tell him what has happened. A man came into the room the night before and threw the young man out without saying a word. He says that he has a secret place in the sky and galaxy that belongs to him, and that he can cultivate there in the future. He invites the young wolf to come and look at the mural, which depicts five elemental beasts.
