In this scene, we are introduced to a new character, the disciple of Master chami. She is the daughter of a nobleman, and she has been raised by her father, the Duke of Linghu. She has been orphaned by the death of her grandfather and brother, and has been forced to marry a man who is a member of the clan loyal to the Duke. When she is asked why she has chosen to marry the man, she tells him that she is afraid that he will kill her father and brother. The Duke tells her that he is too dangerous to harm the Linghu family, and that she should leave the people who are loyal to him to her. She tells the man that they are all "rebel officials" who are planning to rebel against the family. The man tells her to leave them to him, and the two of them go off together.
