About This Chapter
Ten days later, the three have arrived in a small valley in the mountains of China. The brothers talk about the journey, and the brothers tell each other that they will soon be picked up by other family members. When the brothers ask where they are going, the brothers reply that they are heading in the direction of a mountain. They do not see any other people on their way, but they whistle towards the mountain and glare angrily at them. They say that the atmosphere is tense, but the brothers say that it is cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. They decide to go for a walk around the valley, and when they arrive, they find that the brothers have only one horse with them, and that they do not know that the other people are coming with them. When they ask the brothers to ride the same carriage as they do, they are told to do so, and they do so. They tell the brothers that the most they can tolerate is for them to sit with the other person in the carriage, and then they leave.
