In this chapter, the young narrator explains that he is not saying that he did not make a mistake, but that he does not think it is wiser to use his skills to help Soo-chan keep his secret. He says that he can read the feelings of other people, and that Lee-chan tried to help him, but she was not willing to let him in on the secret. She says that since she found out about her secret, she will tell him mine, and he will tell her the truth. He tells her that she is just like her, so she can trust him, and she says that everyone will remember her. She tells him that she has nightmares everyday, and cant go out in the night. Only her uncle knows about the secret, but his uncle says that it is every mans dream. He also says that they think of each other as allies, rather than enemies, and they will cover it up. The young narrator says that the people who are in charge of the investigation seem to have a hard time getting the results they want.
