In this chapter, we learn that the three of them have made their own choices about what to do with each other. They've been living as hermits in the moon's shadow, and they've made the same decisions about each other since the day the moon hermits first came to the moon. Now, they're in the middle of making their own decisions about what they'll do with one another. They don't know how to deal with the fact that one of them is a moon hermit, and the other is a monster. They can't even figure out how to talk to each other, because they'd have to kill each other in order to do so. The monster, however, doesn't want to kill the other one. He wants to kill both of them.
