The monster wakes up and demands to know what's going on. The monster tells the brothers that it's a little "unmistakable ghost" that can't totally destroy human beings. The brothers are confused, but the monster reassures them that the ghost is just a "little ethereal ghost" and that it won't completely destroy them. They're back in the city, and the monster thanks the witch for saving his life. He says that if he hadn't been saved from his mother's death, he wouldn't have been where he is today. He thanks his "witch" for saving him, and says that since he's no longer a "human being," he'll go back to her.
