This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between Enoshima and Enoshima's mother, who has just returned from a trip to the moon. She tells her daughter that she will soon be returning to Earth, and she asks her mother to tell her where she can find a safe place to return. She also tells her mother that she has found a place where she will be safe.
