The narrator tells us that he's been working at a meatpacking plant in Japan for three days. He's had no food or drink for the past three days, and he can't even breathe. The narrator asks where the heck he is, and the other workers say they've been working there for two days. They're all drunk, the narrator says, and they don't seem to be able to communicate.
