About This Chapter
In this chapter, the monster explains that he used to have a fever when he was a child, and the doctor would press his forehead against the monster's. The doctor's body temperature seemed much lower than the body temperature of other people, and his cool feeling made the monster feel very comfortable. However, every time his fever went down, the doctor wouldn't be able to get better for days. Now, he says, he has discovered the secret of reducing his fever. He tells the monster that today is cloudy, which means that the bodies of the undead can't withstand the heat of human beings. He makes the monster some soup, which is full of red dates, angelica, chicken, and medlar . The monster says that the ingredients are "full of burning energy" and can burn "the bodies of ghouls" . He says that he's going to go back to make some soup again, but first he wants to know why Miss Guyu is acting so strange today. She's holding an umbrella, and he says that she's acting more enthusiastic about the lord of the underworld today. He asks her to stop staring at him, or he'll have a headache. He also says that his head hurts when he tries to remember something, and that he doesn't know why she keeps looking at him. He wants to leave, but he also wants to make sure that he can get back to making soup. He's not sure if he should stay or go, but says that if he does, he will just leave.
