The invisible flower is in bloom on the eve of the new year, and everyone must return before the flower withers. The narrator asks if ghosts are allowed to leave the "ghoul world" . He's heard that anyone who is caught will be executed, but he doesn't want to worry about that. He says that the invisible flower can't hurt his chest, and that the guard ghouls didn't notice that he and his family were sneaking into the world. The ghost granny says that she's already in the photo with her family, and the narrator says he'll be a cradle swallower . The ghosts pretend not to see the family, because they want the ghosts to "bidfarewell" to the family and be reborn without any concern.
