The nightingale tells Rat-Bird that she is now his "teammate" and that he is determined to win the midnight contest. He tells her that he will get the round midnight if she will just leave him alone. She tells him that she will keep his identity a secret and tells him to keep his voice down. She says that she has delayed him by replacing the stone with a new one when he returned from his trip to the moon. When he returned, he found that the new stone had already been teamed up with Ren. He says that when he left the moon, he saw that Ren was crying for her and that she had spotted him.
