In this chapter, Caius learns that the evil spirit has been released and that he will be blind forever. Caius's father is furious, and he has ordered Caius to be put under house arrest. He also learns that Caius has been chosen as the new crown prince by Queen Rakshasa, and Caius is supposed to inherit her throne in the near future. He is shocked to learn that his mother has taken his father away, and that her son has taken away his eyes. He wonders why Caius chose Caius instead of his own brother, the blind lord Ren. Ren was chosen by his mother because Ren's aptitude was not good enough for the throne. Now Ren has gone out of the sacrifice lamp, meaning that a new king will have to choose between Ren and himself. Ren has lost his sight, and his father has left him. He has also lost his crown, and Ren has been taken away from Caius.
