About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that Cai Mingyu has arrived at Rimland, the place where the mockingbirds live. He tells the mockingbird that he will kill her if she does not return to him. He also tells her that Rimland is the home of ghouls, who have sold the souls of their dead victims to the creatures living there. The mockingbird then tells the reader that he is the only living creature who has come to Rimland by accident, and that he was the only one who came into the place by accident. He asks the reader to show him his nest departure permit, so that he can leave Rimland without having to find the photo of the two of them. He then asks for the location of the photo, and the reader tells him that he cannot leave without finding it. The narrator then tells us that the photo was burned to make it appear as if it were an eyesore, and to bully the two mockingbirds.
