In this chapter, we find out that Victor is the one who paid the court fee. This is the first time we've heard that he's been paying court, and it's clear that he doesn't want to pay it back. We also learn that Victor's not the only one who's paying court: his wife is. We learn that she's still in love with him, and she wants him to be her "only partner" .
