About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the vampire is the type who "do it to everyone" . In other words, she's the one who does the evil stuff to everyone. The narrator says that step people do this out of a "weakness of heart" , and that's why they're so bad at it. She tells the girls in the hallway that she'll give them a piece of her mind about what's been going on in the bathroom. The girls agree to listen to her, and she tells them to stop gossiping about each other in front of the other girls. They agree, and the narrator tells them that they should be ashamed of themselves for being so bad to each other. She says that she plans to "lay down the law" on all of the girls at the school, so that they won't be able to do this to anyone else. She also tells them they'll have to be quiet if they want to avoid being gossiped about. She asks them if they think that people gossip about them as if they've never said anything behind someone's back, and if they don't think that, then they should just say it to the person's face. They both agree that it's really hard for them to accept that they are demis, so sometimes they avoid everyone, but they can see that it upsets her. They're both sorry for what they said, and they agree that the girls are "apolo gizing" to them.
