In this chapter, the narrator explains that he is a "snow woman" even before he graduated from high school. He says that he used to hide this fact because he didn't want people to know that he was a woman, but then one day he collapsed in the heat during a gym class and was carried on a stretcher. The narrator says that before he moved to the big city, he was afraid that he would freeze in the hot tub and that people would think he was dangerous. But then he realized that he could freeze in a hot tub with his chill, and that's terrifying. He decides that if he doesn't touch people, he'll be okay.
