In this chapter, we meet Hiroshi and Kyoko, who have just returned from the festival. Hiroshi tells us that he brought a lot of food to the festival, and that he and his wife decided to go for a takoyaki dinner. Kyoko was there, too, and she was always complaining about how hard her parents were working to raise her. They told her that they couldn't take her to the fireworks, but she smiled and said that she had taken it very well. Her parents thought that they were doing everything they could to raise their daughter right, but when they realized that, as parents, they had to move forward just like her, they decided to buy an apartment and buy a new school for Kyoko.
