This is a locked chapterChapter 43: The Succubus in the Night-Duty Room
About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which we learn that the young protagonist, Hikari, is now a student at the same school as the vampire, and that she has just returned from a trip to Europe with her father. We learn that Hikari and her father are in the middle of an argument about whether or not she should return to Europe, and the two of them decide that it would be a good idea for her to go back to Europe. They decide to go to the school's night duty room, where they will be allowed to stay for the night without being reprimanded or punished. When they arrive, they find Hikari asleep on the floor, and they discover that she is drunk. The young protagonist wonders if the two are in love, and he wonders if he has a slight influence on them. He wonders if they are both used to keeping their problems a secret, and if they think that the heat of the day is part of their daily lives. He concludes that they are just trying to hide their problems from each other, but the truth is that everything they see and hear influences them.
