In this short scene, Ugarashi tells us that he's been going back and forth to school all day. He's not wearing shoes, which makes him feel weird. He tells us about the three boys at his school, and how they're not attracted to each other. He also says that he met kurtz on his recent trip to Europe, and that this trip has been worth it already. Uh-oh, he says, he can't reveal the details of the meeting right now, but he does say that it was worth it to him. He says that the government is still trying to help the poor, but that he has never thought about starting a family. He adds that the people of his school just don't want to see a "young thing by herself" . He goes on to say that he is like a "father to me" , and he says that even though he is older than his own father, he is more "fatherly" to him than he is to his own dad. He then says that if a man his age were to scare him like that, he'd have a "heart attack" and that he would have to watch it or he would "grab" him . Um, no. He doesn't think that's possible, and says that some men aren't attracted to women as much as men are attracted to other men. He points out that he was attracted to a man named Takahashid when he was younger, and now that he knows he was in love with him, it's hard to believe that his heart pounding is just a "passing fancy" ; he'll have to go back and watch it.
