The chapter opens in the reading room, where the Governess is daydreaming about how she helped her sister, Hikari, become a vampire. The Governess tells the reader that the other day, she slept on the toilet while she was getting up to go to sleep. She wonders if this is because she is a vampire, or if she is too lazy to turn on the bathroom lights. She also wonders if she looks like her sister when she works on her hair. She says that her sister can see her when she does her hair, and that she is sure that she will not lose herself because of her sister's presence.
