Back in America, Gum Man #1 asks his father how he's doing. He's surprised that he hasn't called to tell him that he was coming. He tells his father that he gave him some gum and told him to give it to him the next day, and that's how he got back to America. Gum Man #2 asks why he doesn't give George back, and his father tells him that lina has nothing to offer him, so he shouldn't care about what happens to George. In fact, he says, he only gave George the gum because he was so drunk, but he realizes that he drank way too much. He thanks his father for giving him the gum, and he thanks his son, who's now 6, for waiting for him to return the gum. He also thanks Gum Man #67 for training him to be a better person, and says that he'll come see them again sometime. He says that his heart breaks when he hears that his son has left for some place, and then he realizes he promised to return him.
